Adele Lauren Chick Baldwin, 68 of Lebanon passed away peacefully at her family farm on Wednesday, September 30 with her husband David, Nephew Mike Sr., his wife Jennifer, and her Great Nephew Michael Jr. by her side.
Adele was born on April 20, 1952 to Howard Ansel and Muriel Elinor (Goodwin) Chick Sr. at Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Adele attended Lebanon Elementary School and graduated from Sanford High School in 1969. She went on to attend University of Maine, in Fort Kent.
Growing up Adele enjoyed going to Agricultural Fairs with her family, and especially enjoyed watching her brother work his many pairs of Oxen.
On July 26, 1980 Adele married the love of her life David Paul Baldwin at the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church. David and Adele spent over 40 years of their lives together building memories. Some of the things they enjoyed doing together were attending wrestling matches, collecting unique items, and watching westerns together. Some of Adele's favorite shows were Gunsmoke, Mash and the Walton's. Adele also loved spending time with Ruby and Racine.
Although Adele worked at First National Store and was a Substitute Teacher at St. Thomas School, her fondest working memories were serving as a caretaker for her Mother until 1999 and her Father until 2003, both at the Chick Farm.
Adele enjoyed Farming more than anything. She could always be found working their Milking Shorthorn, haying the fields or taking care of family land. Over the years the Farm was home to many different animals under Adele's care. Some of her favorites were Rosie the pig and Tag and Sydney the goats. Rosie was the lone survivor of a fire on Sunset Road, which Adele took in at 8 weeks old. Rosie could be seen going for car rides with Dave and Adele and was a true part of the family. Rosie grew to over 1000 lbs by the age of 11 and is buried at the Chick Farm. Tag and Sydney also enjoyed car rides in the green grape and yellow banana.
Adele is predeceased by her parents, Howard and Muriel, her brother Howard Jr., and nephews Ricky and Lucas.
Adele is survived by her husband David, sisters Nancy Welch of Lebanon, Sheila and William Tague of Wells, and Elaine and Linwood Dall of Shapleigh. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 11:00am at the Chick Family Cemetery in Lebanon.
