Joseph “Albert” Lemieux, 89, of Sanford passed away on December 21, 2021, with his friends from Pinnacle Sanford by his side.
Al was born on February 18, 1932, to Joseph H. and Rose (Bolduc) Lemieux in Somersworth, NH.
He married Jacqueline Bergeron on November 20, 1959, and lived in Rochester, NH until the family moved to Sanford in 1970.
He worked hard all his life as a Foreman at York Heal and Wasco Industries, from which he retired, in Sanford.
Al was the kind of man who was always there to lend a hand or give some advice. He loved watching the neighborhood from his front porch. Al also enjoyed large family gatherings. He was good with people and enjoyed bowling and card games. When you played cards with him you had to pay attention!
He is predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Lemieux (2009).
Survivors include 4 sisters, Joanne Adams and her husband Earl, Patricia Massingham, Helen Lemieux and Annette Lemieux, of NH. Three sons, John Lemieux and his wife Randi of Windham; Philip Lemieux and his wife Julie of East Waterboro; and Paul Lemieux and his fiancé Katherine Fagan of Shapleigh; his 4 grandchildren Ben Lemieux and his wife Mallory, Abigail Lemieux and friend Steven, Jason Lemieux and his wife Ashley, Reyanne Lemieux, and a great granddaughter, Octavia.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, January 15 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.
Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Cemetery in the spring of 2022.
