Springvale, ME – George Aliferis, Jr., Age 81 of Springvale, Maine, formerly of Lynn and Danvers, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021 at the Pinnacle Health & Rehab in Sanford. Born in Lynn, MA on July 25, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Mary (McIsaac) Aliferis. George was raised and educated in Lynn. In 1957 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1959. George worked for many years at General Electric River works and Factory of the Future in Lynn until his retirement.
The loving husband of the late Beverly Aliferis for whom he shared 35 years of marriage until her passing in 2010. Through the years George cherished the moments on the dance floor with his wife. Together they enjoyed bowling on several leagues and vacationing in Maine before making it their home when they retired.
George was an avid Boston sports fan who especially loved the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was an old movie buff who loved watching the old Westerns with his canine friends right by his side, Muffin and Benji, while sharing his favorite snack with them, Feta Cheese. George had an infectious laugh and loved spending time with family and friends, he was the life of the party and host of several pool parties throughout the years.
George is survived by his loving daughter, Kim Gaudet and her husband Guy of Lynn, MA, as well as his step daughter Kimberly Emmons and her husband Bruce of Springvale, ME, Pam Mallett of Winthrop, MA, Scott Mallett of Winthrop, MA and John Mallett of Deerfield Beach, FL; his beloved grandchildren, Gregory Gaudet of California and Jeffrey Gaudet of Lynn, MA, Bruce Emmons, Jr and his wife Kari of Springvale, ME, Joshua Emmons and his wife Lateesha of Springvale, ME, Danielle Febbo and her husband Luigi of Londonderry, NH, Scott Mallett Jr. and his wife Angela of Revere, MA, Kevin Mallett of Revere, MA and John Scott Mallett of Deerfield Beach, FL; his beloved great grandchildren, Justin, Delanie, Danilynn, Zoe, Nolan, Lennon, Tureena, Lilly and Madisyn. George leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Robert LaCasce of Tucson, AZ and Richard Saikevicz of Hudson, NH. George was the brother of the late Arthur (Sonny) Aliferis, William Aliferis, and Barbara Cote.
George leaves behind his lifelong friend Ralph Natola of Peabody, MA whose friendship he cherished since the age of five. George was a member of the Springvale Social Club in Springvale, ME where he enjoyed spending time with his many friends, enjoying life and laughing. He also cherished his special friendship with Dan Goodwin.
The family would like to thank all the Staff, Doctors and Nurses for their compassion and care of George at the Pinnacle Health & Rehab in Sanford, ME. The family would also like to thank Compassus Hospice of Scarborough, ME for the compassion and care they extended to George and the family.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 6th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery located on Pine Street in Springvale.
