Susan Normand, 62 of Sanford passed away suddenly on Thursday October 7 one day shy of her 63rd birthday.

Susan was born on October 8, 1958 in Sanford a daughter of Edgar and Lillian (Coutu) Normand. She attended local schools, is a 1977 graduate of Sanford High School, and studied Liberal Arts at the University of Southern Maine.

Susan was self-employed as the Broker/Owner of Advance Choice Mortgage in Sanford, which she established in 2006. She was a hard worker and was able to help many people realize their dream of owning a home. As a "Thank You" Sue would create spectacular themed gift baskets for her clients when they closed on their loan. Sue was a gifted watercolor artist. If you have ever seen or own one of Sue's paintings you knew she was blessed with an extraordinary talent. In 2011 she won Best of Show in a juried art show in Sanford. Throughout the years her paintings graced the walls of Goodall Hospital and many area businesses. She was often humbled when asked to donate a painting for charity fundraising events. Sue loved to take long rides often times without a particular destination in mind making each ride an adventure, she enjoyed the beach, was an avid reader, and a crafter who loved to restore and repurpose antique furniture. Sue was known for her wonderful 4th of July and Christmas parties bringing family and friends together to celebrate.

Sue is predeceased by her parents, and brothers Marc and Robert. She is survived by her daughter Sydney Robinson and her partner Larissa, her son Alex Robinson, her brothers Richard and wife Marilyn, Ron and wife Janice, Rene, David, sisters Rachel and husband Harvey Wallingford, Rita and husband Richard Dostie. Sue is also survived by her beloved Quincy who was constantly by her side.

Services will be private. Arrangements are by Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Susan's name to the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk.
